Spalt is part of the natural aging process that can occur under the right conditions in some types of wood. It results in random dark lines and patterns that add interesting decorative character.  

This Spalted Maple Board is appropriate for light to moderate cutting and makes a stunning serving board for cheese, bread, charcuterie, sushi, dessert and more. 

Each piece we make is one of a kind, designed to highlight the natural characteristics in each piece of wood.  Sanded until silky smooth and Finished with our Board Love Walnut Oil.
